I think it's a pointless debate. To me Linux is far too complicated, so I use Windows as main OS, but at the same time I do use Linux for tasks where it prevails. (I tried having Linux as my main OS for a month, and it didn't go well.)

I don't think is dilemma. Choose your tool depending on what your goal is.

Linux for coding/ Windows for gaming

Hate Windows, started using Mac since September, loving it.
I won't say a lot about Linux in general but Ubuntu can drive some one to suicide.
