My Senior posts on LinkedIn about fostering a good work environment, but nobody in our office talks to each other and every time he comes in I get 45 trello cards about what I’ve not done right. Not a single time have I got a ‘well done, you’ve really taken initiative, you’ve managed to do something new without any guidance’

What’s the point in being on a juniors salary if I’m not being taught anything?

Posts on social media **NEVER** represents true lifestyle. Ah, ok ok, sometimes it does. But that's a rare thing.

Also, why don't you confront him with the fact that he's toxic and doesn't do what he said on linkedin? :D

Rule #1 - people post bollocks on every social media platform. On Twitter people pretend to be outraged and famous, on Facebook people pretend to either have the best or worst life ever for attention, on Instagram people pretend they're the world's best photographer and/or model, and on Linkedin people pretend they care about the latest fad in the corporate space, be that an amazing work environment or 10 reasons why you should screw everyone with allergies and allow dogs in the workplace.

Oh, and if you're a junior and not learning anything, get out of there after not too long and shoot for a mid level position where you'll still be coached by a senior, but given a bit more responsibility.

As a junior in the same type of situation. No one talks or helps eqxh other they just go to town on your PR’s. They only ask ‘why?’ and not this is how you do it better.

The pay is good and I have my own office and will be getting clearwance so I just learn as much as I can on my own while preparing for my next job.

@katbreitin It depends... Not all seniors are capable of actually overviewing code....

On the other hand, I'm guilty of that too. I've tried my best to give honest reviews, say great and bad things but.... If I'm short on time - I don't look for awesome solutions... Just bad ones :(

You talk like being a junior had anything to do with what a junior position is supposed to be.

They pay you less, that's the only point. You could still be junior well into your 50s for all they care.
