I'm not yet a programmer, I'm still learning. But is it normal to get so frustrated when I can't find a solution to something and start feeling totally useless?
It's funny because after a sleep I sit down again and usually fix the problem

I can remember quite a few similar episodes yes ;)

After some 20 years it is less common today to feel useless, but he frustration and next day solution is still common enough :)

It's normal, although after many years those moments become far and few between, but that problem will fix its self when you walk away from it for a while.

I was always like that in my early career. It'll fade with experience.

I've been coding for just a few years, a friend of mine has been in the game for 20+ years, he says that's how it works. Worry not, like the other guys are saying, it will become less frequent and last for shorter periods as you know more things.

Hey, I am a programmer and I'm also still learning - and yes this is nothing to feel bad about it's part of the process, just try to think about your past experiences with this the next time it happens, that might make you not feel useless and instead just take it as an opportunity to take a break☺️

This happens often bro. Sometime I even dreamt about the solution weird but feels good. Namaste!

An important skill to develop (sounds like you already are) is knowing when this is happening and when you should step away and stop thinking about it for a bit. It's difficult to do but will make you more effective and efficient, and mitigate the frustration.

    absolutely normal

Yes it is. Also here's a tip: you can either do things the hard way or the smart way. Nearly everyone chooses the hard way forcing themselves to do things, to learn, to come up with things. But there's this thing... Your mind can be hacked :) in fact it prefers being hacked than being forced. Learn how your body works, how your nind works. Recognize when you are going with the flow and when you are forcing the flow on you trying to convince yourself you've still got it. Learn what rituals, what moves make your mind more efficient.

I'm only telling you thus because you are already stepping on this path. Because you have noticed that after sleep you tend to find the solution effortlesly. Now the next step - find the line when it's more efficient for you to go to sleep than to keep forcing yourself. Then find what are your temporary substitutes for this sleep trick. And so on.

Gain more control on your body and your mind and you will hardly ever be frustrated. And things will flow smoothly :)

i know how it sounds. I'm writing it. But fuck it -- it works :)
