FUCK capitalist greed! I have befallen to their tricks once again. The daily dosage on my gummy vitamins was three a day but the total gummies in the container wasn't divisible by three so I had to buy three containers and eat one from each per day!

    Now compare that horrible greed with communism, where you'd be lucky to get a gummy in the first place
  • 3
    @Tayo oh no, you would get a gummy, in 3-6 months
  • 4
    @Tayo In a perfect communist world, you would have a gummy. So your neighbour, their neighbour, and their neighbour's neighbour. And it's the same gummy.

    @pipe yes, but we both know a perfect communist world doesn't exist for as long as humans have fully functional brains
  • 2
    @Tayo In communism, you'd already be lucky not to be shot.

    Besides, I don't think you fully got what @pipe was implying. ^^
  • 1
    @Tayo yeah, because people with a fully functioning brain are greedy bastards

    @electrineer Me, which spends any money I get on gifts and restaurants for my friends and gf : *Oh shit*

    @electrineer thats mostly education.

    I'm not saying communism works, but we don't know because there wasn't a communist state yet which the US didn't actively sabotage just to be sure.
    I mean, China protects itself quite well, and it might just be the first proper example of communism failing mainly for internal reasons.

    @Lor-inc in germany we have a sentence why the communism failed: Alle sind gleich, doch manche sind gleicher.
    In english it would be like: all are equal, but some are more equal.
  • 0
    @stop That might be part of it, but inequality isn't even questioned in a capitalist state, and yet they somehow work much better.
  • 3
    @stop That's not German, that's George Orwell-ian

    It's a direct quote from Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"

    @AlgoRythm you fool, now you'll run out of them all at the same time! You obviously should have bought 6 for safety! ;)

    @Lor-inc I don't know why everyone is posting seriously on this sarcastic shitpost, but I'll comment anyway. A communist state has never existed in history. A totalitarian state that calls itself communist is not communist. A totalitarian state that calls itself a democracy is not a democracy. Also, a totalitarian state that calls itself communist but is also very capitalistic is not communist.

    @electrineer A communist state like in theory is not even possible because there is no game theoretical path from socialism to communism.

    The transition would require that the power-hungry and violent kind of people who enforced socialism suddenly relinquish their positions of power and start doing ordinary productive work. That's the mythical "dying of the state" - never gonna happen.
  • 1
    @Fast-Nop Well, it could work if we took these people and forced them to comply or die in gulags... oh wait now I get it.
  • 0
    @pipe that's called totalitarianism, not communism
  • 0
    @electrineer Communism is always totalitarian because it simply doesn't work with real people, and that gets rationalised away into class enemy paranoia. It's a vicious cycle.
  • 1
    @Fast-Nop i think opensource development is an form of communism.
  • 0
    @stop Software has reproduction cost of pretty much zero, that's the first peculiarity. Besides, open source business models that revolve directly around the software nicely exemplify why communism doesn't work.

    @electrineer That's what I was implying (t'was a joke).
