"- - reportedly causes boot failures on HP and Apple computers."

@electrineer i'm getting swarmed with "help a recent update fucked my PC" for custom builds on my Discord server so i'm gonna say it's worse than that

No issues here. Asus prime mobo, 8086k.

Well too late. No issue on Gigabyte Aorus AX370-Gaming 5 with R7 1700X

Of course it's about efi and the only one affected are the fking OEMs or Mainboard manufactured that just don't care about the efi standard and have to Wirte their own shit that only implements the minimal functionality required by the efi standard to get it to boot. Man I hate those fuckers

@fuckwit uh...? It's been confirmed that everyone can be affected, and all problems caused seem to be mostly random, from what I can tell.

@Parzi I can't seem to find such confirmations. Enlighten me please.

But from my limited efi programming experience this can for sure happen. Apple and HP are known for tampering with efi in order to make the boot process "more secure". Microsoft not checking with HP is a big deal. But I'm surprised that HPs and Apples efi shit breaks so easily.

Installed on the 13th, no issues on MSI GV62

@fuckwit Several cases on custom-builts and Dell/Gateway OEMs on my server and other tech support places. (We're talking 20-30 out of 300 members, but still)

And mine, which is custom-built, though it's got a shit EFI implementation as well.

Windows and it's fucking updates. One broke my wife's notebook a few months ago. Now she uses Ubuntu. 🤷
