    Seems ok me

    @lostinmyworld no.

We ascend from lowest quality to highest.
  • 3
    Now I get it!

I didn't even noticed it the first time
  • 2
@lostinmyworld lmao yea it made me do a double take whenever I first opened the quality settings.
  • 3
Whenever I look at it now it's worse. It sorts in the first letter and onwards. Hahaha
  • 9
Someone is sorting on a string array πŸ˜‚
  • 6
    Quality: yes
  • 4
    @MrCSharp java.util.Arrays in the background

    "Why not use me-.."

  • 3
    That is some lazy programming
  • 7
At first it looks like it is based on first character, the you see 1080p?? Then maybe the first character is actually whitespace:

    . 144p

And you realize it's still retarded. I would love to see the code behind this
  • 2
What's even more insane is it's only one video lmao

@ddit What code? That's probably how it's read from the database.

Google doesn't pay people to bubblesort, they pay for features πŸ’²πŸˆΆπŸ’΅πŸ’ΆπŸ’·πŸ’΄πŸ’ΉπŸ’€

Maybe, just maybe, it's the browser?

Given a JSON object, there is really no assuring the order without adding your own sorting, which is extra coding to do extra work for something that's usually fine and always usable?
  • 5
Here's my guess: the 720p video is 60fps. The quality might be lower but they're sorting by required bandwidth not by quality.
  • 1
@taigrr but when it is 60 fps they state it as "720p60" I think
  • 1
@cafecortado I know they do on desktop, do they on mobile? I don't remember. Could also be an older version of the app.
  • 1
I just checked on mobile and yes

Maybe we need to post this on change.org. And request a copy of the source code to end this confusion.

Buy YouTube premium and all this shit will go away
  • 1
@pthread I will cut my internet out before I pay for that shit.

I'm a Google fan boy but they can suck my balls with this YouTube premium bullshit
