xios16438yDon't know why all the hate. The backed I wrote in PHP is still running after 8 years without a single glitch. Plenty of errors, but PHP gives no fucks about those and despite the errors the result has been 99% flawless. OK it's a simple api for a simple Android reporting system, but still. That server is closing in on 3000 days online time.
PHP works for the things it was intended. -
"Plenty of errors but php gives not fucks about those" is kind of why I'm swaying away from it. More complex it gets harder it is to debug. That's my 2 cents anyway.

xios16438yWell he probably ment me and is quite right. I really know shit about php. I am just amazed that something that I hacked together with it with 0 skill still works and provides results =D Stated just a personal opinion.

Why would I be talking out my ass? An odd passive aggressive comment to make on an observation.

lig114458yYou knew I'll come...
Some devs just spent a lot of time fixing, patching and integrated third party systems. And when it's in PHP you ask double check.
I did a lot of php after doing Assembly, Java, Client side and Python.
Now I do Python, Go and other stuff.
Every time I look at PHP code I think is it me or this language is just a piece of shit... After years of development I know that I am ok... -
Oh I'm sorry, I thought it would be fairly obvious that I wasn't backing up and I was making a wild stab in the dark.
I apologise that it made you feel like you had to respond in such a way. -
@Letmecode erm... okay then! Wasn't sure I was criticising anyone specific, if you have you're reasons fair enough, but if the glove fits yadda yadda

I'm sure more than 50% of the Devs who claim to hate PHP either don't use it, or only claim to hate it because, well, you know... it's the Dev way.
