Russian press is horrible. I remember reading that America controls weather in Russia using DARPA (!) and this is the only reason we have problems, not corruption or alcoholism.

After reading several bullshit articles like that I quit reading newspapers in general.

Lmao it's just as shitty here.

Literally hours apart from each other it went from being ok to gather in crowds to it's a health risk 🥴🥴🥴🥴

    ALL MEDIA IS SHIT!

And I mean ALL of it.

NPR runs story about right wing people using cars to attack protesters. Some person is shown running someone over. Yet NPR fails to show moments before lady driving car was being attacked by a mob surrounding her car. Someone reached in and pulled her hair. Then someone else pulls a gun. They are trying to force her our of her car. Then she realizes she needs to get out of there. So she takes off in her car and someone gets run over.

It is ALL bullshit and untrustworthy.

@Demolishun displaying things only from one side of the story to prove the agenda is one thing. Coming up with absolutely ridiculous science fiction shit is absolutely next level

@Stuxnet well, to be correct, they never explicitly claimed it was ok in the first, they just did not raise the comment on it being a bas idea.

And that one was arranged by the same government whose experts says its a bad idea.

But in both cases it will result in more dead :( down the line.

@Voxera they're obviously implying it heavily tho. Even Hellen Keller would see it.

Furthermore, if it's such a big issue when one does it then why not point out how much of an issue it is whenever the other does it.

Said the same thing on Reeeeddit and those retarded gave me -50 or so votes. Guess they hate logical arguments....shocker.

Isn't the press just a part of the corruption there?

That DARPA thing sounds plausible. I mean, the US Navy has a secret weapon that causes the tides, and in order to cover that up, they invented the moon, and in order to cover THAT up, they invented the moon landing, and the Soviets couldn't say a thing without admitting why they couldn't stop the tides.

@Fast-Nop We are not paying you enough. Do you want it in Rubles?

@Demolishun Payment in hot Russian chicks would do.

Well at-least they don’t suggest to drink cow piss to treat covid-19

@hardfault in fact, they do. There’s a website called “русская моча против скальпеля врача” (translates to “Russian urine instead of surgeon’s scalpel”, but in Russian it also rhymes) that presents urine as panacea and sells pasteurized urine

In the west it's China, Russia, and immigrants that get blamed for anything and everything. Not that different really.

the leftwing news labels straight up violent rioters "peaceful protesters" while rightwing news labels everyone, up to and including *genuinely* peaceful protesters as "thugs and criminals". and thats just one example.

they want us to fight each other, which is stupid.

the media is a core pillar of this divisionary bullshit we see constantly pedalled. they highlight the worst examples from both sides while pretending to fight one anothers narratives.

if you are gonna shut off the news, go one step further. find a journalist doing their own thing, someone you think is honest, and subscribe to their patreon or whatever fund source they use.

congratulations: you just hired your own news company, and you didnt have to be a richbitch 0.1%er to do it.

@Wisecrack The filtering of this info is also at fault. We have Google, Facebook, and Twitter tweaking the filter lens constantly. Youtube is starting to filter based upon "official sources". This means only "approved" information will be exposed to public view. I have little doubt that search engines are doing this as well. So alternate news sources are struggling despite the effort to "just report what happened". They may be there, but you may never see them.

@Demolishun that's actually really great topic you brought up. We don't have to force these companies to reform. We probably can't even if we want it to. We're not the customer. Our data is the product for advertisers who are the customer. So we have no say anyway. But what we can do is promote alternatives. And there's a lot of people online who will shoot you down over this I'm trying to make you think it has no impact. But I've personally seen it. One person leaving for another platform or service becomes five people. 5 people become 10. 10 becomes 25. And it goes on and on and on. There's actually been a Resurgence in people using email. Because email is almost entirely uncensored. One on one. And in environment were third-party interlopers and lunatic idealogues on a mission can see conversations, such as on social media, and break it up, drag down the discussion or censor by flagging it, email is a breath of fresh air.

I'd like to see some social media platforms built on email invitation lists. I think we're well past the point that removing the filter bubble is going to do us any good. Twitter permanently train people to automatically ridicule people they disagree with, and *millions* of people went through this indoctrination on both sides of the political divide in the u.s. alone. I would not wish Twitter users on my greatest enemy. But email? A lot of progress can be made there, and I think people are going back to it for that very reason.

@Wisecrack People are also paid full time to push political agendas and rile people up. There is big money is silencing opposition.

Another huge problem is the education systems teaching people it is okay and right to silence differing opinions. This is generating automaton like graduates from the schools. Basically tools of oppression. They then bring this to the work place and political spectrum. Big brother is becoming the neighbor working for the establishment. They call differing opinions "hate speech". Watch for this label and realize they use different definitions for this than what the dictionary says. Cloak and dagger deception and political assassination.

@Demolishun the weak get smashed by idealogues.

anyone that does not like it, needs to learn from the opposition.

the places I grew up in fighting was an is a way of life.
