Is there a better OS for developing open source than Linux???

    Nope. Not until Windows and Linux become one which I don't believe will happen

    Anyway I also do love the OS but hardware/pricing forces me to use Linux at home

    @vinerz What? Your post makes literally no sense... The Adobe suite runs on Windows and Mac, so why would you have to swap OS to have one or the other?

    There's a bunch of operating systems that are NOT Linux you could use if you wanted:

    BSD (A true UNIX):

    FreeBSD
    NetBSD
    OpenBSD
    DragonflyBSD
    GhostBSD
    PC-BSD

    Other Unix-like:

    Minix
    MacOS

    Windows like:

    ReactOS

    Other:

    Haiku
    RiscOS
    Syllable OS
    MenuetOS
    Plan 9

    That's about all the weird ones I can think of, anyone know of anything else that COULD be used?

    Not SkyOS though, that's been dead for years.

    I mean, why develop on a system that is not used? And why dont you develop on linux?
