    what was he trying to do?

    @Pyjong Put a rj45 connector on network cabling. You have to get the order just right in order to crimp it down.

    I can’t relate.

    Is it about breaking network cables or trying to put together your own connector on a loose network cable? (Is that something people usually do?)

    Maybe it’s super relatable for hardware people.

    Those who never done this (put a 8p8c connector on a cat7 cable) will never understand the pain.

    If it is a short cable - buy a ready made one. If long - it is much better to use a wall mount socket connector, and use a short ready made one for the last mile.

    This made me see flashbacks from my networking class in pre-college.

    After your first fifty cables it stops being difficult. After a few hundred, you can make them without even trying. Just takes practice 🤷🏻‍♀️

    @Root With solid core or flexible cable? Solid core is easy, flexible cable makes you wonder about your life choices.

    @Demolishun I’ve never made a cable from “solid core” cat6 😮. Didn’t even know such a thing existed.

    Mmmm this is like setting up AWS access permission, you spend hours specifying who can access what, and then AWS goes: fuck you, giving access to certain services is equivalent to giving full fucking admin.

    Hmm, it is a bit finicky to get all the tiny conductors into the right place.
    But if you don't buy the cheapest connectors, there is a tiny helper piece to organize them before putting them into the connector.
    It is actually just a matter of patiently following the color chart and you always get working connections.

    @Root you may claim that but imagine hanging 240' in the air from a tower that wobbles everytime you move and being color blind. It don't always get easier. Sometimes you just haven't ran into a new challenge.

    @icycrash Well, I’m not colorblind, and practice doesn’t make colorblindness go away, so.

    @Oktokolo just memorize it 😋

    orange/white, orange, green/white, blue, blue/white, green, brown/white, brown. easy!

    @Demolishun alternatively: Maybe he is trying to put on the connector but then he finds out he forgot to take off the sleeves at the end?

    @Root
    Yes, especially as it is as easy to remember as the new emergency number (https://youtube.com/watch/...).

    @Oktokolo it’s just rainbow with two colors swapped 🤔 No trailing 3 or anything.

    @Root
    So they are ordered by color wave length?
  • 0
    @Oktokolo Its a tarnished rainbow. Its like a gay guy that mostly does guys, but will fuck an odd chick here and there.

    @Demolishun
    So its a bisexual rainbow?
