Is it worth buying late 2011/2012 Macbook Pro for programming?

Probably not. What sort of programming do you do?

If you're used to OSX, then maybe.

Additionally if you're coding for OSX and IOS you don't really have much choice. Personally I'd go for at least a 2013.

If it's not mandatory that you have OSX then I'd say get an older Dell XPS and run your preferred Linux distro.
