I figured out why FS2020 crashed all the time.

One day when I was just casually playing FS2020, I bluescreened with a watchdog violation. For some reason this corrupted a DLL which was part of my graphics driver which is not required for the output to come out of course. The DLL is “atidxx64.dll”.

Somehow, this went unnoticed.

After digging into the extremely well-hidden crash log I found out that it accuses this DLL file, dug up on it and I saw that it is made by AMD.

Reinstalled the drivers and now it works fine.

FUCK MY LIFE I REDOWNLOADED THIS 95GB SIMULATOR 4 TIMES BEFORE DIVING INTO THIS

    Husband has been playing it. The setup was rough because he accidentally bought it from the windows store. Kinda feels like a big pile of not worth it.

    It works great for me. IDK what people are talking about.

    @SortOfTested does he have proper controls and some interest in flying? Otherwise definitely not worth it. It's not a game after all.

    @electrineer
    Yeah, he's been an FS human since the 90s.

    It's a well made program but it does have its flaws. If your not logged in with a ms account on windows then it won't let you login to the Xbox app with an error code that doesn't exist. Also this beautiful game kept saying "filesystem corrupt" and according to them there is no fix. Also idk who designed the cache part but was probably high. If you set the cache size it will preallocate it meaning write a file that big out at the speed of near zero. Idk why they couldn't do like a normal cache that grows when needed.

    @SortOfTested in my opinion, the sim is very worth it. The bugs that I encountered are not their fault... that bluescreen is something else.

    Though I wish they would let us use Vulkan instead of fucking DirectX...
