Dad called me over for "tech support". He'd bought a wireless mouse and keyboard and couldn't for the life of him get it working. The issue with my dad is that he never lets you touch the computer when he needs help. 20 minutes and 20 questions later, I finally ask if he plugged in the USB receiver. Answer? "It's wireless, it should just... work!"

    That's why I always ask if it's plugged in first, no matter who I'm helping. Also, good on him for wanting to be the one driving. Sounds like he's trying to learn by doing, no?
