    In Spanish It's like saying daddy, so is better to pronounce one letter at a time, as It should be.

    In dutch API pronounced is monkey (ape really) and url pronounced is like Earl. I don't mind really, it's quite clear what you mean by context

    I give you the option of choosing l or N, to append to the S, that I'm going to prepend to your appy..

    I hate any abbreviations pronounced as they if they weren't.

    DVD -> deevd
    PS -> piss
    OS -> oss
    GIF -> jiff

    Ooohhh I have a co-worker that does this ALL the time. I'd rather listen to fingernails being scratched on a blackboard.

    PHP pee hates pee

    I've never heard it pronounced that way before and I hope it stays that way.

    In Italian we pronounce all acronyms as if they're Italian words (excepts when we speak in English obviously). If the world spoke Italian we wouldn't have those problems

    @nblackburn

    DVD - deeveedee
    PS - peeas
    OS - ooas
    GIF - gif

    In Finnish.
    Basically everything is pronounced as written, except shortens; they are pronounced as the letters would be.

    id say gif is acceptable. never hear anyone saying it like G.I.F
    Although it does start the whole flame war of gif vs jiff.

    I don't like when people call a GUI a "G-oo-ey". Just say G U I

    @nicnaknic there's a team for GUI related bugs in my company and they say 'goey'.
    Check the ticket for that goey bug.
    I did a fix on that goey bug.
    In my mind I see a bug that is made up of jelly.

    @CrashOverride here's the thing. You call a gift a G -ift, so why isnt a gif always like gift just without the "t". It's not a jift, it's a gift. Just like its a gif not jif

    @nicnaknic My thoughts exactly
