COV-SARS-2 rant!!
I know most of us engineers/developers/etc are quite introverted people, who are happiest when we are left alone with our best friends (we all know who/what those are šŸ‘ØšŸ¼‍šŸ’»), but I miss working with colleagues in the office, and seeing some faces as well :(
Discussing plans over hangouts/slack can sometimes be cumbersome, compared to face-to-face conversations šŸ¤·‍ā™‚ļø

    We rotate who in office and there is always a meeting or two who can’t be done remote.

    Usually we have less than 40% of employees in house.

    @010001111 We as well, but we still have barely the quarter of all the people in the office. Tech team's space is almost entirely empty.

    But personally slack works quite well

    Being introverted doesn't mean we don't like seeing faces from time to time :).

    We abuse of here.fm, jitsi.io and vscode liveshare. Also we organize afterworks (cycling attendees).

    We keep our meeting for devs only though, to limit disturbance.

    It has been fun :)

    I tried to organise at least one-per-month lunch with my team (less than 10 of us), but I failed miserably šŸ¤·‍ā™‚ļøšŸ˜

    Remote working is probably easier for those of us who are long in the tooth. I've never met any of my team in the flesh, but we are working well and have a good online dynamic. However they are all on the mature side of 30 I guess. I do worry about how the move to more remote working will affect more junior developers, both from a social pov and from a development path.

    I get you. It's hard to always be at the office, but office has its benefits, including communication with colleagues.

    Imo almost everything can be done better remotely than in person.
