    Elasticsearch has an Operator, so the heavy lifting is done for you.

    Depends on the version.

    (If you run anything below 6.8 - please don't answer)

    @IntrusionCM We're running current versions! Our app can re-ingest the 10 million records pretty easily. So we spin up new upgraded versions, re-ingest the entire dataset, and move on. Upgrades are easy.

    @devphobe yeah.

    Newest ES / 7.9 - if i remember correctly - is good.

    <= 2 Prototype
    5 Alpha
    6 Beta
    7 RC
    8 will be first release ""stable""

    (note: all releases were GA / general availability, but 8 removes finally the mapping types... And the featureset / "completeness" was first visible in 6... Hence the release grades from Prototype to Beta.)
