Junon's Zen of Tabs:

Tabs for lexical indentation, spaces for alignment.

Tabs always come first, and never after a non-tab character.

This is the only way it should be.

I do not have an open mind about this. Fight me IRL.

@C0D4 I'm just waiting for the day binary CSTs are a thing and we can be over the syntax mess once and for all.

@iiii I have dyslexia. Your 2-spaced small-talk looking javascript that uses only functional programming constructs makes my eyes literally hurt.

I use 8-space tab widths because I need them to not get headaches. Tabbed source code does this for free; spaced source code does not.

@junon you must have one hell of a wide monitor

The tech lead reporting to me is dyslexic and says he doesn't thinks that's a dyslexia specific problem. Also there's fonts to help you sort that.

@SortOfTested Does your tech lead know me personally? The dyslexic fonts do not help me much. Spacing out code does a bit more. Your tech lead is not my doctor.

Just saying the connection to dyslexia feels like an attempt to craft an ableism argument to shame @iii, when it doesn't apply to all dyslexics, but is rather a personal issue.

If your disorder is the crux of your original statement, knowing the opinion is unpopular and you fail to disclose that as part of your statement, the only reasonable conclusion is you created a rhetorical trap. You leave them with only the option to /r/aita, or ignore you. I hope neither of those was your desired outcome.

@SortOfTested With all due respect, I think you're reading into my comments a bit much.

@SortOfTested I don't care anyway because the response was way too aggressive for a civil talk 🤷‍♂️
