I made a thing.

A recent user threatened to "hack" me using "Tampermonkey"... and while that is silly, it did get me thinking about trying out some User Styles for the first time in a while.

So, I present to you rapscallions DarkTronRGB.

Three Dark Tron Style CSS User themes for devRant that work with Styler and Stylebot browser plug-ins.

Everything is so minimalistic these days I never get to try this kind of stuff in my 9 - 5.

Release Notes:

1. Still need to tighten up some of the mobile styles. I've got a grid layout that's broken on some sizes. Does better at Desktop screen widths above about 1000px viewport width.

2. I removed the FB and Twitter share buttons because fuck fuckin' FB and Twitter.

3. While some things are still broken on mobile widths, others are maybe even improved. The comment and post buttons are tucked nicely in the right corner. And I kept the Rant filter bar present on mobile as well as the "Widgets" from the side bars... although I effed up placing some of them.

Keep an eye on for V2 in the coming weeks!

how much time did it take for writing all that css

@linus-torvald Just 1200 lines of hand crafted CSS3 like momma used to make... Took maybe 6 or 7 hours including running up a new gmail and a new github.

Then I just ran a search and replace to make the two other colors.

As an exercise... I now know everything there is to know about clip-path:polygon... and touched up my skills some on grid and flex... And I get a nice dark Tron them UI for my ranting! Maybe not to everybody's taste... it is kind of busy on some pages... but oh well... it's just CSS. People can tweak what they don't like pretty easy.

WOAH, that's damn amazing! Unfortunately, I don't have PC right now to enjoy this design on daily basis.
But also I'd love to see it on mobile as well, so maybe unite with @010001111, since he's doing devRant PWA?

@vintprox Hey thanks! And yeah, I'll keep an eye on @010001111 and his git repo. When it comes time for dark/light theme I can definitely look at a pull request for some theme skinning.

Web people are quite impressive. I recently had to change my mind from the old way of thinking so I moved from raw binary to assembly. Now I'm thinking about learning something else.
