Does anyone else compact their code to make it look as complicated as possible just to be a jackass or make yourself look smart?

You'll stop when, in a year or two, you'll be the one assigned to maintain said code.

Some people does. They take code golfing to the extreme, like it's some kind of badge of honor reducing code size. I like elegant, compact code, and ?: is my friend, but a line must be drawn somewhere.

To be very very honest, I do this. I also have a very low self esteem and doing this can actually sometimes make me feel better about myself :/

@linuxxx hahaha i like your comment. I wish i could, once my code starts to 'look' complicated i tell my self '' hey buddy calm down a minut, would you? Did you knew that if you make it look too complicated you might get lost on your own code, specifically when you know how fast tou can forget '' and at that point i start to make it look easy lol.

@linuxxx Used to do that. I had low self esteem as well, since I dont have a formal education. Give it time, you'll grow out of it. Every developer has phases: copy/paste code, more comments than code code, no comments code, extremely compacted code, too abstract code...
I guess a good developer is the one who finds a good use and balance of all abovementioned things.
