Antivirus is necessary, but I like to go with Windows defender as it's not super annoying and there aren't any ads, etc

I'm using Norton for many years now, its stable here and has no issues.
But its sonar function can be really annoying. Workaround is to disable sonar completely or exclude the project directories. -
stisch46038yI worked someplace that required Norton, which I begrudgingly accepted. One day the entire network got some kind of worm and a bunch of machines were lost, including two of the servers.
Norton gobbles resources, creates headaches, and does not work at all.
Computers are vulnerable. Push often, put anything you care about on the cloud, don't save passwords, and be ready to burn your machine to the ground at any moment. -
What you guys do when after finishing a project, complete with installer, ready to ship to your friends and families. Then suddenly, after installing it on your friend's machine, antivirus blocks.and deletes it. Now your friends will think you're sending them a virus.

If you need to be on Windows, use the MS-provided av solution and apply those damn security updates. Otherwise, just jump to Linux already. Installing paranoia software is not protection.

When you start a new project.
You create a new directory.
You start the IDE and create a new application project.
You type just 5 lines of code for testing it.
Then you compile and run.
Nothing happens...
You abort and retry.
Nothing happens...
Half a minute later a window pops up and Norton reports you that an executable has been removed because its suspicious and has a lack of reputation!!!
