"Christian Conservative company looking for like-minded web developer."
Like, stand by your values I guess, but that is a very very small niche dev you're looking for.
Tbh, I can scarcely imagine somebody smart enough to be a solid dev, but then also... um... mentally maleable enough to have faith based world view.
My weed smoking atheist ass literally wrote the area's Catholic Diocese website... LOL... and you're gonna put applicants through some religious test?
Just so much dumb that it takes a minute to even unpack how much dumb and on how many dumb levels.
Stairway to heaven, and on every step, a turtle. -
Religion is like love - pretty much not rational at all. So chances are, there are religious devs out there. But finding conservative ones will definitely pretty hard...

Big escape room company job offer: they were asking me to design all the electronic devices, software and systems to interact with in the different rooms. It was back when I was still studying in EE at uni. I was looking for part time work at a decent pay more or less related to my trade. I was already a tech.
Fair enough I thought. Gonna be a short term contract. Time to discuss the price, terms and deadlines then.
So they told me I would also be working as an actor part time right of the bat upon further discussing in person, which I found kind of weird. They told me they would pay me by the hour and offer a competitive rate, without giving an actual number. They would send me the offer in email after our meeting. Nothing clear about the actual work to do. Right...
So this is the offer I received: minimum wage but with great possibilities of advancements lol.
Told them politely to get fucked. -
@Oktokolo and love is like oxygen.
But that’s not transitive. Religion is not like oxygen. It's a sociological disease. -
rootinit1424y@Oktokolo I'm not Christian nor conservative myself, but I do believe that there are more conservatives out there who are developers than people think.
We are only bombarded with the Silicon Valley/FAANG idea of a developer, but if you think about it, most developers are not doing that sort of work. -
@Lensflare
I would expect it to at least have been an evolutionary advantage at some time in the past.
Religion is not cheap. But almost all people where pretty religious before the industrial revolution - including almost all of the scientists that made the industrial revolution possible in the first place.
I am pretty sure that it is not needed anymore though... -
@HiFiWiFiSciFi apply, then walk into the interview with a green sweater saying “well hi diddly ho coderino”
