I don't want to see rants made completely of huge header font, apart from that, links and images are already allowed, Bold/Underline/Italics/Strikethrough are useless.

    Lists, Maybe, Checkboxes, Maybe.

We can have a stripped down version of Markdown, The only reason to not have it is the possibility of people abusing it to seek attention.

@johnmelodyme look the vision of devRant is "A place where developers can rant and hangout with other developers to talk about life as a developer" It's a social platform and for that purpose you don't need markdown do you?
For code related questions there is StackOverflow.

If you're an active devRanter the kind of technical questions you can ask here are about know how. For example "Hey all my boss wants me to build a highly flexible load balancing system that does X, i have no idea on how to approach this. I've read X sever software solution is good but I'm not sure. Any advice for struggling fellow dev?"

@heyheni In fairness, there's times where I've wanted it expressly for that purpose (to rant about a particular short section of code.) The problem is though, it'd almost certainly just be used to turn dr into a code dump site, which would kill it dead in the water.
