I know what you mean. Probably has to do with the fact that it's made using appcelerator and titanium rather native apps.

Perfectly smooth for me. IMHO this is a good example of an app that doesn't have to be native.

It misses some treats that we have in native Material Design apps but it's still pretty responsive imo

Smooth on iOS, but it's a newer generation phone. Perhaps titanium hasn't optimized for older/newer versions of android/iOS? Or maybe the hardware for your phones isn't quite as optimized for non-native apps
