Write code on paper.

Did that. It was C code and we had to do it for exams (that college had a weird view on taking tests back then) when we were in first semester of college. Thankfully all other classes were with computers. Yeah, it WAS terrible. ☺

Did that for a while when I was a social worker for some time and couldn't afford a Laptop next to me desktop. So during night shifts I coded on paper. It's a PITA but a really good exercise anyway. True story

Ugh... brings back a memory of me writing down syntax grammar for COBOL as an exam assignment. Followed by both design and core functions to convert cobol to java.. Needless to say, my fingers and wrist felt abused!
