How come devRant app don't have a gif keyboard support or even a decent gif selector like most of the messaging app.
Apart from that this app is so basic that it feels like a script kiddo made it for college project.

One of the reasons I like devRant is because most websites with random content for procrastinating are.... exhausting.

After work and meetings I don't want to be bombed by ads, vids, gifs, cookie banners, pay walls and shit like that.

I find it exhausting cause my brain has to filter and process a lot of it.

E.g. currently I'm so busy because of project hopping and finding bugs in several completely different tech stacks that even watching Netflix is exhausting.

    Reading text is easier.

Reading mode in Firefox btw is a complete bliss for that.

@NoMad sorry I think you mentioned me somewhere which I just remembered... Regarding friends / discord: Will try to answer at weekend if I'm feeling better, at the moment I have a dishwasher in my head. Brain no worky worky.

It's called minimalisation, why does every social app have to be a monolithic app of features, we are here to RANT, and discuss things, how is this platform not catering for those basic needs?

@C0D4 There's a few CSS bugs on the web and the app occasionally crashes...

    Feels like home.

GIF reactions suck anyways, make it harder so that people don't use it.

@HiFiWiFiSciFi web app has less features then mobile apps, I think it's just for the sake of having it, its there.

I put up with the mobile app crashing, It's not as bad as it once was but still happens occasionally, it's like a slow walk to paradise, there's just shit on the way!

Well, probably because (1) this isn't a messaging app per se and (2) this isn't 9gag.

Because it's not just another messaging app. it's a forum.

I'm not sorry to anyone who is getting offended because it's a rant what else were you expecting.

And about paying, adding a gif keyboard support will not increase server cost.

Having a decent UI doesn't mean hurting the minimum design elements. It would only improve the UX.

For starting I suggest a single line text box for replying so that I can read the comment which I'm replying to and textbox can be made full screen if user wants focus mode.

And I don't believe that most people would hate new features. I would request devs to have a poll and see what does the app users wants
