    TikTok copying vine, there's no copying when there's no innovation, IG reels is just for taking advantage of the unemployed TikTokers looking for another platform that won't get banned anytime soon.

    Why use any of these?

    @johnmelodyme Greater userbase is the key, IG can copy and still be more popular, Ideas are no one's property.

    @Demolishun

    I’ve been thinking about setting up a Minecraft server for my family. My oldest is finally (or almost) old enough to play something with us.

    @Root I bought a Xeon workstation to run as a server:

    HP Z420 Workstation E5-1650 V2 Six Core 3.5Ghz 32GB 256GB SSD

    This was $350 refurbished from newegg. I then bought samsung 1TB for $120. Then I realized I needed a UPS. So I ended up getting a 1600VA APC for $160.

    So my "cheap" server has gotten significantly more expensive. It is currently serving up 4 worlds and used about 40% of the ram. The CPUs are not even sweating. I have never heard the CPU fan cycle up. I am running everything in Ubuntu 20.04. It is fun to maintain a linux server. I have not done so in a long time. Learning to automate "all the things" on the server and in minecraft.

    Going to add some more things to the server.

    Also, if you are serving and already have a web host, you can use ddns (if offered by host) to point to your server ip address. The server can update the ip to the ddns domain automatically. Almost like having a fixed ip.
