Yeah, an unnecessary complication to a good application IMO.

I really can't get used to Slack.

I was looking forward to it actually. But it was poorly executed.

Well i think that threads are actually a good feature for big chatrooms (meaning 30+ people). So if a small group of them want to discuss something its not disturbing for anyone. Also its easier than creating a new room for that.
