Yesterday, I received an email from the boot-camp that my contract was terminated because of HARASSMENT. They kicked me out from Slack and Github. They're treating me like a sh*t! I haven't done anything bad against them. In fact, they treated me poorly and unjustly. They didn't have an explanation about the HARASSMENT that I've done. Where is the justice about this?

    Just like that? For real?

    Really? Nothing at all?

    Let me guess. You do not subscribe to the woke view of the world and somebody found a post somewhere to this effect? Welcome to the bullshit world garbage institutions are trying to create.

    @Demolishun I think they're trying to protect their image instead of receiving negative feedback.

    Some weird snowflake definitely is at fault

    Yeah this looks like "cancel culture". Don't worry, you don't miss anything because if that boot camp is already infested by woketards, whatever quality it might have had has already gone down the drain.

    You won't learn anything there because they select both staff and students not by quality, but by political correctness. Often combined with racist and sexist bias (i.e. anti-white, anti-male).

    So you get your money back, right?

    Not knowing make it impossible to judge but in any civilized organization you must be given the chance to know what they reacted to so you might either challenge it if you consider the accusation a lie or at least know what was wrong and why so you can change your ways.

    Even when one self does not see any error someone might have misinterpreted something.

    Some things might be completely accepted in some circles but considered an offense in others and unless you could be expected to know this it would not be your fault.

    And it could also be a false accusation which is very bad and something that must be addressed so that real cases get the recognition they deserve.

    So, what happened before they sent you that letter?
  • 1
    They probably kicked you for your lack of image processing skills judging by the almost illegible screenshot...

    @Oktokolo devrant.com does compress images.
  • 1
    @Fast-Nop
    That explains a lot of that blurry memes...
    But does it prevent links too?
  • 1
    @Oktokolo Maybe for new posters, yes - and the OP is new. Also, who'd click a link to an image?
  • 1
    @Fast-Nop
    I clicked the image to make it larger. I would have clicked the link to make it an image too...

    @wackOverflow I didn't paid anything at all.

    For those who cannot read the image properly, here's the content:

    Hi,

    This email is to inform you that your slot inside Avion School will be terminated for cause, effective immediately. We have been informed by separate individuals that your conduct within and outside Avion School channels has made them uncomfortable.

    Prior to being onboarded into the program, you were asked to sign a Program Agreement which laid out a Code of Conduct that ought to be followed when dealing with students and team members. For your reference, that clause in the agreement is highlighted for you below.

    3. CODE OF CONDUCT.
    b. Proper conduct and behavior are expected from all Students at all times in all Course classes and communication channels associated with Company (i.e. Slack, GitHub, CodePen). Students are expected to be courteous in dealing with fellow Students, the instructor/s, and the rest of the Avion School team.

    con't..

    This type of behavior—harassment—cannot be tolerated inside of Avion School. As clearly stated in the signed Program Agreement, "non-compliance with this Program Agreement may result to potential legal action taken against the student."

    Considering the time period that you've been in the course, we will be invalidating the need to pay the Income Share Agreement. However, other documents including the following will still be valid:
    Non-disclosure Agreement
    Privacy Notice
    Program Agreement
    The documents are attached below for your reference.

    If you require further information you can email me at victor@avionschool.com.

    Sincerely yours,
    Victor

    @jhenryj09 You signed an nda?
  • 1
  • 3
    I would never sign an nda to attend a school.
  • 1
    @Demolishun they just want to keep it "confidential"
  • 5
    The ”separate individuals” and “uncomfortable” together with just repeating the paragraph is indicating that either the reporting part is regarded as a more important student, like related or friend of someone at the school or that they are uncomfortable detailing exactly what they consider breaching the terms or they do not want you to know who and the complaint would make that obvious.

    So unless you know of something I would say this would, at least in Sweden, be grounds enough to challenge the decision.

    But this obviously being a completely private school it could be expensive as you most likely would have to drag them to a court.

    @Voxera The problem here in the Philippines is that, if you don't have the fame and fortune, you don't belong with them. Which is very sad for my fellow countrymen.

    @jhenryj09 I guessed it might be something like that :/

    Which could mean that you did not suck up enough to some influential student. And that is a battle hard to win.
