Upon reflection, I think that the amount of math I learned in school pales in comparison to the amount I learned about LaTeX. I could pretty reliably recreate the textbook rendition of the problem. Maybe it's just me but just knowing the solution felt too abstract. I want a solid looking execution of it.

I'm graduating today so I don't know how relatable this is for everyone else. I'm just reflecting.

    I've long thought the best way to learn stuff is when you actually need to do something practical with it - at least for me.

    Textbook learning is all good to a point, but I really need to start applying problems to real world situations to fully understand things.

    @AlmondSauce exactly. I keep reading crap saying use this bc it’s good practice and other gibberish and until they show a practical use for it, it means nothing

    Graduated with my computer science degree in Dec, we barely even touched LaTex. One professor mentioned it as a "I like this and it's somewhat useful. No you don't need to know it for the exam."
