How in the fuck do you start getting clients as a freelancer? Do I just throw stuff on my GitHub and pray someone hits me up on Fiverr? Upwork won't accept my account and it's been fucking four months of me trying. I took to becoming a full-time designer to push our startup's products to completion but a fucking failure over there too everytime.

Everything is a fucking shitfest and I'm just whining at this point but I needed to take this off of my fucking chest. A good fucking day to you too.

    Not on fiver. Too cheap.
    Go to freelance.com where you bid for work, you might need to do some stuff for free to get a reputation.

    Get yourself a site and facebook page and act as as a business, start marketing your business.

    Sooner more than later you will get your first gig.

    Do not take more work that you can actually deliver, you will burn out.

    Have a good day too.

    Here in NL it's very easy: use LinkedIn to connect with as many recruiters and recruitment agencies as you can then post an update saying you are or will be available. Volia. If I do that I get like 25 phone calls a day.

    @CodeMasterAlex Damn dude. That's pretty neat. Worth a shot though so will try to do it too. Thanks for the advice!

    @theOverseer you're welcome. Be aware that many of the same projects are offered through different agencies and each agency will have their own terms, conditions and fee. This fee can be quite expensive at some while very cheap at others. Keep that in mind.

    @CodeMasterAlex Got it. Thanks again.

    @CodeMasterAlex How do you mediate in case of a dispute? Sites like upwork and freelancer have that one point which no one contests: 'We provide dispute resolution'.

    @cst1992 I must say I never got into that situation but if that happens you can expect the agency to resolve it. After all, the contract will be between you and the recruitment agency so that will be their responsibility.
