Engineers are the most abused workforce in the entire country.

Also, CTOs are generally dumb. Yet to meet a good one.

I remember when I worked tech support.

They cancelled our quarterly pizza party due to budget cuts. It cost the company like $300... 4 times a year.

I visited the engineers who complained lunch wasn't paid for... for 2 days a week....

I've met 1 good CTO, admittedly at a company that underpaid grads,
    but
    c'est la vie.

@atheist same best CTO, but only hired grads with a lame salary

The CTO at my current company is pretty good. In my last company there weren't an specific CTO but the engineering manager was pretty good also.

The one at my company is pretty decent and the grads are paid well (in his division, at least). But I can relate to those with shitty CTOs from what I experienced in a previous workplace.

    What country?

Anyway, I am so abused by my boss. Get this, he asks me if I am enjoying the work I am doing. The nerve of that guy. He has it in his head that he doesn't want me to work on stuff that isn't interesting or fulfilling. Also, my new supervisor, was worried about me getting stressed and bored with some training I was doing. These people are monsters.

Honestly, I've run into engineers who would describe what you described ... seriously.

"Like no bro, you just don't want to socialize, that's ok... but your manager guy isn't being mean, he's just trying to work with you."

Can confirm the CTO statement. I've acted as one twice so far.
