I haven't dealt with it but when I've heard folks talk about it ... I didn't want anything to do with it...

You haven't seen Shibboleth.

This is why AAAS is so lucrative. It was designed this way on purpose. Look at who actually developed and promoted OAuth protocols.

It is way better than SAML.

I spent 2 straight weeks learning oauth and openidconnect.

What I can say is that like most things when you know it it's not too complicated.

Anyway I am happy I finally know it.

OAuth is fine.
OAuth2 is not.

@jasongodev Oh god yes. I've heard about it in an university course. In the feedback, I suggested to teach OAuth2 next year as it is way more established in the industry.

So when you have to suffer a weird authentication flow, at least it should be worth it.
