Partner with someone who's good at assets
Or use engineering art till you get to a stage where you actually require assets. Don't let it stop or slow down your project.
My private ARPG project has had capsules killing other capsules by shooting cubes at them for a while now -
Root797673yI absolutely hate doing art and UI.
After awhile I just refuse to do them, and it’s killed projects before. -
@RememberMe True. I think I'll have the burnout taken care of once I finish my current project. Don't want to let asset work destroy my motivation to try making a Godot game with Swift!

@Root I'm pretty much fine with art and UI since I'm getting more comfortable with pixel art. Just some of the more complex bits as I'm brainstorming is worrying.
But then again I don't need to think so much about it for prototyping. -
G4nin01333yYeah working alone you really gotta love all of it. I love creating the assets and painting textures so that is not my issue but personally it is the testing and optimization of code I find a bit dull. It becomes rather repetetive

Anyone ever get the feeling of wanting to go further with a game project but not motivated enough to do any of the asset work for it?
