Ok, im officially at the point where I can say this and I don’t say it lightly.. I’m really unhappy..
It’s hard for me to be happy anyway but being unhappy is not the same as not being happy IMO..

I’m so angry, especially at the western governments but also at the western society for making everything down that we’ve built over hundreds of years..

I’m socially pretty conservative I’d say. I have my values and manners which are very important to me. I try to be kind, diplomatically correct, hard working and honest but people sh!t all over that. Almost on a daily basis people tell me to “just lie”, it’ll solve the problem or to blame someone else.

What happened to work for what you want? And to “Be honest and loyal and it will pay off”? It’s more like the opposite nowadays..

Lie to everyone you can, cheat your way through every conflict and try as hard as you can to be a victim and all will work out…?

My boss had an interview ihr a grad student and she caught him googling stuff, trying to hide it. I told her to not even consider him but she thought he “deserves” another chance..
someone who applies and lies “deserves”??? You don’t DESERVE anything, you EARN it.. if you can’t earn it then sorry but this job is probably not for you.. not to mention that this guys CV was full of crap..

I just wanna find a woman, buy a farm an go off grid for a couple of years šŸ˜… oh wait.. that’s legally not possible in pretty much any European country.

    This, absolutely.

It’s why I moved away from the big blue city to the peaceful countryside. Less lying, markedly less crime and violence, less welfare, more people who appreciate hard work, and earn the things they want instead of demanding handouts.

On a related note: every time I watch the news, or hear something about it, makes for another awful week. Similarly, every time my super lefty employer/coworkers bring up politics is another week full of anger.

I, too, am unhappy. And worried for what will come.

I'm there with you, man. I can't wait to retire or even just move into nature away from the city and suburbs. Im not even sure i want anything more than dial-up, because then I'll be tempted to look at social media.

At the same time, i feel like i have a responsibility and duty to fight for the right to be left alone, to not be yelled at for having a different opinion, and for other topics i think you would find are worth fighting for.

Moving to somewhere remote is absolutely possible in Europe, though mainly in the Nordic and colder countries. Good luck, brother.

@arcsector I don’t think that is a fight you could win, though. I’ve tried and tried, and failed every single time: in person, online, through policy, and legally. There are just too many over-controlling crazies, and none of them listen to reason — or their reasoning is extremely flawed and no longer makes any sense.

It’s a bit like arguing with a herd of goats — individually, they will ignore you, you cannot understand each other if you try, and in the end they just get angry and headbutt/kick you. But there’s a lot of them, making a lot of noise, everyone just wants them to go away, and they’re stubborn and demanding.

@Root i dont really have to win, i just have to get them to leave me alone. Fighting may not be the correct term, but little jabs here and there and the ability to say "No" whenever possible is the way to go i think, and more mature people are able to handle more mature conversations.

@arcsector yea I think you mean to stand your ground and not surrender to their BS, right?

@Root honestly I think this is pushed like crazy by politics. And I’m the end, either we‘ll end up in communism or people start to understand that that’s not the solution and turn 180 degrees and go way too far into the opposite direction. (Like the brits tried)..

@just8littleBit essentially, yes. If you allow yourself to be bullied, the bullying will never end.
