This doesn't seem like an isolated story. I see story after story like this on devrant. Why TF are your managers so messed up? What is the point of saying your app has blockchain?

Fintech brings easy money in. That's why.
Just throw « blockchain » in an investors meeting and look at their smiles. -
Blockchain has no use cases except crypto (which sucks as it's inflated beyond limits with no inherent base value).

Block chain is like any other buzz tech...
If there is no expert involved, it's hot air without content. -
RyaCo12dNext time, frame it as "Let's explore blockchain's strengths (transparency/security) and align them with project goals."

Piniuze212dHonestly, it’s so common for big orgs to chase buzzwords like blockchain just to say they’re “innovating,” even when there's zero business case. I worked on a white-label budgeting software https://kindgeek.com/white_label_pf... project where someone tried to force AI into it for the sake of it... to calculate monthly expenses. Sometimes honesty feels risky, but it’s also necessary.
I'm working on this project; it's for a large organization that desires to use blockchain simply "because it the feature" and not for any actual use-case; anyway, after a week or so we had a team meeting and my supervisor asks what have we accomplished so far, I was dumb enough to state that it went fabulous but I can't see how the use of blockchain is beneficial to the project, his response was "OK, I'll let you know what more features to implement to make sure you use blockchain well". And I'm just looking at my co-workers like "plz don't hate me".
