Anyone else here thing their head would explode if they knew something like this at their workplace?

HR believe it. That's why they make sign a sheet that says you will never speak about salary to your coworkers.

I beleve it for two reasons.
1. The best developers are the lazy ones cause they will do the least work to come up with a solution.
2. They know a lazy developer isn't going to look for another job if they have a pay to match their price of living.

so no my head wouldn't explode

He sits and drinks coffee all day, does no work at all, come up with excuses.

Theres lots of Wally's in the real world, there were 2 in a small design agency I worked at (none of them were Devs). You'll find them in every company, just look for the brown nose (from licking the bosses arse).

@amahlaka yup. Knowing salaries makes you hate the company for not paying you enough, not hate the person for having to much money
