@Linux I just came... Wow Microsoft got balls? :O or is it the next step after integrating Ubuntu in Windows
-
@SteffTek didn't you know about .net core yet? Been out for a while but hey hey dont get your hopes up just yet as you cant use Visual Studio on Linux for example (I think you need to use Xamarin Studio) or use VS code but that's not really an IDE
-
Would never letar antal ms-technology get into my Loves Linux os.
Its bad enough having systems sneaked in. -
I'm looking at making the switch for a personal project involving the Pi... Might just do the .Net Core development in VS17 and FTP the required files to the Pi though.

Natrocx408y.Net core is just a backend framework. That means it includes stuff like the Entity Framework but not the Windows Presentation Foundation. But it's still a good move of Microsoft. Gotta love their new CEO.
They are having a lot of new open source stuff which runs cross platform. -
Natrocx408yAnd if you need a fully blown IDE JetBrains Rider should be your choice for Linux.
Otherwise I think VSC isn't all that bad or you can just look out for plug-ins for other editors. -
pesaply6978yI don't know how I feel about that , but sure some fox will be happy , I hope no Linux core developer even thinking about this lor (lot of rant );
So when .Net and MSSQL is avaible in Linux, how many will switch over?
