A coworker asked me for help so they could finish their task on time. That meant that I had to be a bit late for one of mine. They blamed me for delaying the whole team because I didn't finish mine on time. 😕

Well, to be fair I'd say it's your responsibility to be able to say that you need to prioritize your own work. If you think their work is more important to get done it might be a good idea to make sure it's agreed upon not only by you but by the rest of your team or you boss as well.

You don't help other ones if you don't have time to spare. Nuff said.

Something is probably deeply wrong in the system if other tasks depend on one task so heavily. And teamwork should be encouraged. Just reply that you helped someone and it wasn't clear which item should be blocked: yours or theirs.

Possibly one of the only advantages of a daily stand up!

"I have been helping dipshit with their tasks, so I haven't been able to work on my ticket(s)"

@jotamontecino I guess it should be more like "do the one that is more important". But in any case the fact of some slowdown should have been noted and stated to the manager before the end of the sprint.

Make sure if you ‘help’ someone, you do the commits…

@jotamontecino I guess I am lucky to have managers that do understand things and don't go against developers unless there's a real necessity
