"devrant" is for stuff about devRant.com itself.
And the right tag for your post would have been "question" because it's neither a rant nor a story. -
I'm glad you asked. Rant/Story is self explanatory.
devrant however, is a category about the platform itself. Essentially the tag where you talk about the platform for example criticising or suggesting stuff -
I thought I knew the answer. Which would be "devRant is directly programmer-related while other rant/stories can be less programmer-related"
But guess I was wrong.
""devrant" is for stuff about devRant.com itself."
Then it might need changing.
If the devrant option was called "devrant meta" or "devrant.com" it would be more clear -
stop68023y@jiraTicket if you have suggestions, i can suggest that you look at the issues page on github. Some features are already suggested, so you can add your opinion or upvote it there.

@stop Thanks! I usually don't even consider posting a github-issue about a topic that's not an error but just a subjective taste issue.
-
@Fast-Nop this smells like you created an alt so you can explain this once again
-
@jiraTicket it's less subjective if you can justify the change by explaining the end goal and how the change would work.
-
For example, this post would've fit best under devrant category. The question category would've been correct, too, but I find devrant category more specific.

nitnip18133ydevrant button is to complain about the site's lacking features and how the admins want to push you to download their bloatware of an app.
-
@jiraTicket Yeah, enough people get clearly confused by this that I think the hatred they get for accidentally posting in the wrong category is a little unfair. Devrant would be far better labelled as "meta" or something.
Still, I've made this argument before and got shot down every time as just pandering to stupid people, so go figure... 😟
What's the difference between a "Rant/Story" and a "devRant"?
