No matter what JS library holds the #1 spot at any given time there is a special place in hell for all of them.

I think people's disgust mostly comes from legacy sites where a junior tried to build a complete SPA with jQuery.

As a set of functions for showing/hiding a few elements... It's OK. These days, doing it with pure JS isn't much harder, but it was a fine, useful library back then.

I'm actually more disgusted with SPAs in general though, regardless of framework.

It was so easy to build shit with jquery. I wonder if there’s still jobs out there using it. Probably a mess by now.
