w0ble6238y37h week, flexible times. Can start at 7, finish at 3 and have the rest of the day for myself. Usually start around 8 though. 😎

gacbl6218yMy boss actually forbids me to work after 4pm but I rarely listen, as I just chill most of the morning and then actually start to work after 4pm as I'm not really that productive in the morning.

It depends on the developer and on the company. You can have flexible hours as mentioned before here and code side projects on your free time, you can work from 8am-8pm in your day job and no side projects or life aaaand you can do 8am-4pm and meet friends, theatres whatever.

Tokimimo1328yDont know which country it is you're living in ( too lazy to check profile )
but germany and Luxembourg are kinda chill about it. There are some asshole companys here and there that will suck the life out of you but just minimal coverage.
I for example can start work between 6-9am (so I can decide when to wake up on each day, neat). Earliest allowed to leave is 4pm and then have my own life. just have to fullfil my 40H a week somehow and everything is ok.

How is the quality of life for the average web developer?
I've been doing a bit of research and it seems quite common for people in the field to have no life outside of work. This is not what I want. I work/study 7 days a week and I would ideally like to work for a web dev company, not freelance.
Is it naive to think that a standard 9-5 is realistic for me when I graduate?
