My boss wanted to hide the web application source code from the browser dev tools, he wanted to force the clients to use an electron portal for the application and block the access from any other browser.

Better just hide the end product from customers as well

My boss at an internship long long ago had a similar idea with our jQuery project, but at least she understood the futility when I explained it to her, plus she was from a .NET background so I'd let her have the benefit of doubt of having worked in a very different environment

Just write down the idea, lock it in a safe and put a pricetag on it.
