I had to make it private for that reason, Russian spam accounts were following me all the time, they all had that "check me out at XYZ.tk" profile description, I got tired of blocking them and made it private

@eeeddr and then your follower request list gets obnoxiously filled with spam crap :( there's no winning! At least you can deny them :|

But that's the thing, a week after I made it private, the requests stopped. But it's always easier to deny their follow request then it is to block them so it's kind of a win
