It doesn't.
The idea when Java was created was to create a better c++.
What we got was a monster opening all systems where it runs for sequrity issues and backdoors.
If Java was just a fraction better than c++ the patches should have stopped long ago.

@Dexter there is also 15 million people with cancer a year, but that doesn't imply cancer is good.

@krister-alm I just copied what the java installer said, the fact that it's everywhere well I'm not so sure about security.

I've seen it multiple times installing and upgrading java for uni.

What's amazing is, op didn't even say Java is the best because it runs on 3 billion devices. Everyone is assuming that he mean that and ranting on him. Java is indeed powerful!
