IT is currently putting on a giant presentation at the corporate offices telling them that our development team builds all of our apps using MS PowerApps and that all of our internal development is done using no code tools…what fucking planet did they visit to come to that conclusion??

Yep, it probably hurts to hear about it that way before HR had a chance to tell you in person.

maybe they are talking about how they do it?

Personally, I would be insulted by this.

I work in Consulting. Have a few colleagues who are currently working on a powerapps project.

The "No Code", "Drag n Drop" marketing is all bullshit, even. Most No Code solutions break down pretty easily once you're past the cookie cutter use case they were designed for

@RexGalilae Yup, anytime you want to hop out of the little box they made for you the limitations start making their appearances and you have to start writing custom (often proprietary) code inside the “no code” platform which is even worse to maintain than plain code. It’s a sham.

Precisely. Source control, maintenanibility, unit testing, documentation, all goes out the window.

Take a look at the marketing here too. Not at all targeted towards developers but MBAs who can easily be swayed by buzzwords
