@rutee07 I am hoping so....Planning to save enough to migrate to other country . I realised this issue is common in malaysia that if you complain to the government, they chose to remain silent about it.

    #corruption.

That is fucked up. Today (Saturday, during morning time) the DBA called me because he needed me to restart 3 systems that we have in order for them to take in a update from his side. I am friends with the man, he was asking more about "what do you think" rather than "do it" type of conversation. I told him that I am done doing shit during the weekends for our company since it does not matter (he has been affected by this)

The idea that working on your spare time for a company means that you are a more productive/efficient employee is such boomer mentality. I won't abide or go through it again. I am happy that more young people are bringing such notions to the world. I was not born to constantly work for the benefits of others.

For reference, my VP has gotten awards for shit that I have done. Dude can suck on a can of dicks for all I care.

@johnmelodyme I’m so glad you’re planning to move. Every place you worked for was a toxic mess and you’re better off fleeing the country for someplace else where they don’t hire “devs” that act like whiny 13 year old brats

@johnmelodyme on a rare occurrence I may - at my leisure - jump on outside of work hours to get something done, but not as a standard thing.

Any company that actually requires that has their timelines way out of whack or management fucked up yet again and under quoted and their bonuses are on the line. Honestly, fuck em, unless you choose to do it, it's their problem.

It sucks your on the firing line for their stupidity 🤭

@AleCx04 yes the ideal of “working long hours makes you the man” is the way to stress, heart disease, obesity, depression and early death. It’s fucked up and needs to disappear before it kills even more

@rEaL-jAsE he didn't save me from 30kg in the last couple of years. Waiting for the offices to reopen so I can roll my fat ass to work 🤣

@Floydimus I have been looking forward to New Zealand, Netherlands, Singapore, Norway , Bulgaria, Hungary , Taiwan (but now is dangerous) , or the UK.

    Still planning.....

@johnmelodyme Singapore would be easier for you. Also, closer to home.

    Go for it my man.

@TeachMeCode I am actually so tired of the companies here. They behave like kids. It is no wonder the country is collapsing like out aeroplane.
  • 1
Why don't you join some decent startup in Malaysia?

Request a change in your contract stating that you work 12 hours a day 5 days a week. After that your hour is doubled

    Simple
