Me as a dev most of the time:

✓ great project idea
✓ create a skeleton for the project
✓ gather all the info needed
❌ Time to do the actual work on my project
Leave it for months unattended
Randomly write 5-10 lines of code

i usually spend a week obsessing over a project, usually during holidays or vacations. after i get stumped i ignore it for a couple days and forget about it, and then my time is over. have done exactly that about 5 times already.
