Nice heart warming little story that, good to hear among the rants. Also nice to know I'm not the only veteran on devRant :-)

DonMcCoy5658yI suppose that when you also retire to start writing stories, you wrote it wonderfully, posed a good feeling inside us with just some few lines.

@Charmgoggles In a few years I will retire, then I can tell everything about the software.
But right now I can't do that, because many of my clients are IT related people and its likely that some of them are on devrant (to rant about me :-).
By the program name they would realize who I am and then I couldn't rant here any longer. -
@Charmgoggles 1993 by two people. And there is only a r foundation (recently) . however R is based on S, starting in 1976.

kingshark7Can't tell you about my first job as I've never had one. 😕
My first job was a statistical program that i wrote during a trainee at a local IT department.
My boss liked it and told me I could keep the sources and the copyright.
Then he made some phone calls and helped me to find my first clients.
Since that time I am working on the same program.
I founded a software company and have a good life now.
My old boss retired some years ago, but some of the team are still there.
From time to time I visit the department having a coffee with old friends.
That trainee was nearly 30 years ago.
