620hun81888yMy brother-in-law used to work for a company that developed bank IT systems, and their servers were named after McDonald's products, like Big Mac, Strawberry shake, etc 😁

Kimmax109878yWe have some cool name schemes in use too, like:
- Characters of Mickymouse
- Characters of DonaldDuck
- Characters of Desperate Housewifes
- Characters of Southpark
- Characters of How I met your mother
- Characters of the Simpsons
- Head of states
- Planets
and many more
We even assign server roles based on the name schemes, as an example all Windows servers get the evil characters and server structures can be applied to the family trees of the show, as an example we have March and Homer who are both Hypervisors hosting the VMs Bart, Lisa and Maggie.
It has this huge benefit where one can just say the hostname he's talking about and almost everyone knows what direction to think into.
You hear Lisa and know there is a server named Homer, so it has to be some kind of VM running on a HV. We try to match the characters roles with server roles like DagobertDuck hosting some banking application, but thats not possible all the time.
Tons of fun to find a new scheme for a new client tho
