How the fuck do you want people to be productive if the office is loud as a fucking bar??? πŸ˜πŸ˜‘πŸ˜

That's why I always put headphones in and lose myself in my own world ;)

I get anxious when I hear too many people talking at once, so I like to put ear buds in and play some kind of white noise video on YouTube. Like the TV static kind of white noise.

I am actually more comfortable on a space filled with work related chatter then in silence... Music tends to distract me, as long as the noise is not repetitive or monotoned I'm great with it.

Always found the silence of a library disturbing...

Well I did my best to explain this shit to them for the past 12 months but yea no one gave a fuck.

@PoweredByCoffee probably because for the last 12 months you have been saying that everyone in your office is unproductive?

    So true
I actually prefer sitting in a meeting room all by myself to avoid the noise

I know the feelong. I get disturbed by even phone rings. I have started using instrumental edm/chillstep music to be mpre productive and experiencing good results. I use this - https://promusic.tech/2mJrw8A. Or just put on in-ear headphones without music if you dont like music. πŸ˜€

    Headphones. Wear them.
Until your title starts with a 'C' you will probably not be able to ensure a perfectly tranquil environment.

    @mhudson i don't think being a casher would lead to a tranquil envionment ;)

Move to the bar, it'll be quiet during the day.

PHB: But open offices are great for "collaboration and innovation".

To be perfectly honest i don't think the people who advocate open offices understand what the f--k they're doing.

(We're clocking in at 80dB here regularly)

Maybe you'd be more productive in an actual bar... with a drink...

@badcopnodonuts probably , the bars in this area are less noisy than our office during the day.

They installed a soundbar in the sales department. Now every time they make a sale, they play songs through it. Really great for them, but I can fucking hear them from my office which is downstairs, and has two doors to the stairwell.

I complained and they said it's just their thing. I have no right to complain. Fuck intentionally loud people.
